Arvel Bird
LAVA Music presents Arvel Bird in the beautiful Abounding Grace Sanctuary.
Arvel's early training in classical violin, combined with his years on the road with Glen Campbell, Loretta Lynn, Louise Mandrell, Clay Walker, and others plus his Native American and Celtic roots, have helped to shape a style and a presence that is all his own. His continuously evolving music is delighting audiences everywhere he goes. His most recent album, Celtic Nation released in September 2011, is a fusion of traditional cultural music, with an edgier rock feel and a stronger, more soulful sound.
One of the hottest Native American artists on tour today, Arvel was voted "Artist of the Year" by fans and peers at the 2007 Nammys (Native American Music Awards), and in 2009, he won Best Instrumental Album and Best Producer/Engineer (with Grammy-winning producer Tom Wasinger and Nashville engineer Chas Williams) for "Tribal Music Suite: Journey of a Paiute".
Arvel has released 19 CD's and two DVD's. His latest albums, all released in 2011, are a solo flute CD "From the Heart of a Paiute", "Storyteller" in which Arvel delves deep into his stories of the Animal Totems and Native American culture, and "Celtic Nation" which returns Arvel to his Scottish roots and beyond.
Based in Nashville, TN, Arvel is permanently on the road, connecting with audiences the old-fashioned way. . . live. This is where Arvel's emotionally driven performances thrive, igniting concert venues, symphony halls, festivals and more, leaving his audiences inspired, transfixed and transformed.
