Cooking Demo and Dinner: The Fundamentals of Indian Cooking with Raghavan Iyer

Do you love Indian food but are too intimidated to try cooking it at home? Renowned chef, TV personality, and cookbook author Raghavan Iyer will take a roomful of lucky guests on an intimate, interactive tour of Indian cuisine. Starting with spices  and how different preparation techniques change their smell, heat, and flavor he'll outline the different cuisines of India, explaining their geographic and colonial influences, while setting several common misconceptions to rest. Guests will dine on multiple Indian dishes family-style while enjoying the show.

A James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and International Association of Culinary Professionals Teacher of the Year, Iyers most recent book is his paean to potatoes, Smashed, Mashed, Boiled, and Baked  and Fried, Too! His many other cookbooks include The Turmeric Trail and Indian Cooking Unfolded.

(scallion-studded potato and spinach cakes with a golden raisin ginger sauce)

(half a chicken marinated in yogurt, ginger, and spices and served with an almond raisin tomato-fenugreek sauce)

(blistered bell peppers with fresh dill)

Zaffrani Pulao
(basmati rice perfumed with whole spices and saffron)

Dessert

Aam Elaichi(Mango Cardamom) Cheesecake
with a pistachio crust
