Voices of the Unheard is Spirit Awakening Foundations annual theatrical performance of spoken word, poetry, song, dance, and storytelling celebrating the unedited voices of our most vulnerable citizens. By amplifying the voices of unheard youth in Los Angeles, we offer them another way to discover who they truly are and we give the world a chance to understand and celebrate them. Join us for a day of art, community and inspiration.
The powerful words of the youth are performed by guest artists such as Rev. Michael Beckwith, Marianne Williamson, Hilary Swank, Debra Wilson, Frances Fisher and others- along with former child detainees.
This year we are pleased to be honoring Spirit Awakening Advisory Board Member, philanthropist, child advocate and prolific spiritual teacher and friend of the foundation, Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith!

About Us
Spirit Awakening Foundation (SAF) is a non-profit dedicated to helping youth realize their spiritual identity through meditation, creative writing, improvisation, visual arts and mentorship to build character and raise self-esteem, one child at a time. SAF is a community of teachers, mentors and philanthropists who help deliver arts-based restorative programs to at-risk and incarcerated youth in the greater Los Angeles area. With programs hailed as creative, innovative and powerful by the California State Department of Justice, SAF has been a pioneer in restorative justice and juvenile delinquency prevention.
