Details: This is the first of five monthly educational nature hikes for this year. Limited to a small group (max 12), this is a great opportunity to learn about nature from a seasoned naturalist in the company of other like-minded individuals.
Format: On this moderate length hike, we will "walk & wonder", stopping frequently to look at birds, wildflowers, trees & shrubs, mammals, reptiles & amphibians, butterflies, dragonflies, mushrooms, or whatever else the group is interested in. Your guide will help identify whatever we encounter and provide loads of interesting information.
Knowledge level: Suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced.
Physical requirements: Must be able to comfortably walk up to 8 km over trails with some slopes, while carrying a daypack to transport your lunch & drink (we will be having lunch on the trail).
Note 1: No dogs or other pets.
Note 2: Must be 18 years of age or older to attend.
LIABILITY WAIVER: All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver on the day of the outing.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Depending on the weather forecast, the outing may be cancelled in which case an email will be sent to all registrants by 7:30 AM the morning of the outing. Should the outing be cancelled, a full refund (including service fees) will be provided.
