The fall concert of the Contra Costa Chorale, led by Music Director Cindy Beitmen, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first performance of Morten Lauridsens Lux Aeterna by the Los Angeles Master Chorale in 1997. Our concert, appropriately entitled Eternal Light, will include music from the Renaissance to the 21st century with each piece reflecting the theme of light. In addition to Lauridsens Lux Aeterna, the concert will feature music of Thomas Tallis, Felix Mendelssohn, Randall Thompson, and Z. Randall Stroop, and will end with an audience sing-along with Aquarius/Let the sun shine in by James Rado and Galt MacDermot in celebration of light as well as the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. Accompanying the Chorale on organ and piano will be Martin Morley. Please join us for an evening of shimmering, uplifting choral music.
This concert will be performed at two different locations on two different dates and at different times:
