Seward Park Audubon welcomes National Book Award Winner and weekly New York Times opinion writer Timothy Egan to the Royal Room. Egan will discuss his book The Big Burn that narrates the Great Fire of 1910 that burned 3 million acres in Idaho, Montana and Washington. The Big Burn is presented through the news accounts, letters, and the personal stories of those who witnessed this great tragedy firsthand. Nearly ten thousand men assembled to fight this largest-ever forest fire that would help define the newly established US Forest Service. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Please use the link to acquire your tickets in advance.
