EISMA house concert featuring Ronnie Malley and Turath Ensemble
Turath ("tradition" or "heritage" in Arabic) Ensemble is a musical collective that performs folk music of Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. In a beautiful home in Evanston, audiences are invited to get up close and personal
The Turath Ensemble is comprised of talented Chicago musicians Ronnie Malley (oud, voice); Hamze Allaham (shibaba, voice, and poet); George Lawler (percussion); Ahmed Hamad (dabke)
There's too much going on, why make this concert a priority? -its close to home! -meet a great group of fellow Evanstonians committed to multicultural music -rare opportunity to hear music in such a lovely and intimate setting -beer, wine, tea and Middle Eastern appetizers throughout the evening are all included -learn more about Levantine culture and traditions through music -Ronnie Malley is -support local musicians -support EISMA's efforts to provide equitable music experiences to all district65 students.
All proceeds benefit EISMA. EISMA provides the same concerts to all D65students, equalizing opportunity for music enrichment throughout all schools. To do this, we need to raise a percentage of the fees.
