Ben Weaver, with special guest Curt Meine, will be performing at The Schoolhouse on March 25th to raise awareness for the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance and the Badger Lands project.
Ben Weaver is a musician, poet, writer, rider, and fighter for rivers, lakes and land. He often tours by bicycle and advocates for everyone to go be quiet in the woods.
Curt Meine is a musician, speaker, author and teacher. He is a senior fellow with the Aldo Leopold Foundation in Baraboo, an adjunct faculty member at the UW-Madison, and a founding member of the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance.
Proceeds from the event will go to support the Alliances efforts raise awareness and increase the silent sport activities on the Badger lands as well as to identify, preserve, and propagate the historic apple trees on the site.
The Schoolhouse was built as a one-room schoolhouse in 1861 and owned by the school district for over 100 years. In the 1960's, it became a studio and living space. Additions were added in the late 70's and early 80's by renowned Prairie Style architect, Herb Fritz. The Schoolhouse is now under the stewardship of the DePauw Family.
