Year-Round Pickling & Preservation Workshop
Summer may be over, but there are still lots of food preservation projects to keep us busy throughout the fall and winter. In this workshop you will learn how to make tasty pickled vegetables and can them for shelf storage (they make great holiday gifts!). We'll leave cucumbers behind while we focus on winter vegetables like carrots, cauliflower and onions. In addition to canning pickles, we'll discuss and sample other winter preservation treats such as preserved lemons, marmalade, apple butter, pear preserves, and dehydrated apples and persimmons. Go home with a jar of winter pickles and the knowledge and skill to make your own in the future
