Rueda de Casino/ Cuban Styling with Amanda in Boston
Amanda Gill, director of DC Casineros dance company, (and former Rueda de Casino instructor for Masacote Dance School) will be offering four workshops on November 3rd! Amanda now lives in DC and will be coming to Boston once a month to teach a boot camp series of classes, usually on a Saturday. The classes will be from 12pm to 4pm and will be held in a beautiful room at 175 Richdale Avenue in Cambridge (just a short walk from Porter Square).

BOOTCAMP SCHEDULE 12-1pm, Beginner Rueda class 1-2pm, Afro-Cuban Styling class 2-3pm, Intermediate Rueda Moves class ** 3-4pm, Intermediate Casino partner class **
Afro-Cuban Styling: This class will introduce fundamental exercises to increase your technical ability in Rumba and Orisha dances from Cuba. You will learn and master dance phrases utilizing polyrhythm and full body coordination concepts from Afro-Cuban dance. We will practice dancing them to salsa music.
Intermediate Rueda Moves: This class will introduce one fun classic and one challenging unique group move for intermediate Rueda dancers. Pure Rueda fun!!!
Intermediate Casino Partner Moves: This class will focus on creating traveling and turning combinations to use in partner dancing. Learn new leading and following techniques to develop your repertoire of casino moves.

*ABOUT AMANDA GILL
Amanda grew up studying and performing ballet and modern dance in the DC metropolitan area. She began to focus on Afro-Cuban and Salsa dance in 2001. She has trained with dance masters Aramis Pazos and Oscar Rousseaux and has studied contemporary dance, folklore dance, and choreography for a semester at the Instructors Arts School in Havana, Cuba.
Amanda travels periodically to Santiago to train with Cutumba in Haitian dance and with Yanek Revilla in Casino styling. She founded DC Casineros dance company in 2005. They dance the roots of Cuban Salsa and perform popular and religious dances, including Son, Rumba, Yoruba, and Congo/Fon-based traditions. Amanda is a Registered Dance Therapist, and currently works on creating dance therapy methods that utilize social dance as a means to heal.
