Created memories fuse with visual music in the multimedia production of The Dream in Captivity. A string quartet and a live band will collaborate to perform a 60-minute collection of songs written and arranged by CLIFF DWELLER.
The musical set is reminiscent of a film score in which the spirits of Bernard Hermann and Krzysztof Penderecki surface to underscore an electronic soundscape of dialogue and drones mixed with images of Americana to unsettle the soul. Oliver Bernsen's large-scale oil paintings will line the theater's periphery, enclosing their audience within an imminent world - portraits of moments never intent on being captured.
These forgotten touchstones will make the viewer nostalgic for a place they barely knew, somewhere along the course from romanticism to reality
