The Crucible is a high-stakes, chilling, and fast-paced dramatization of the Salem witch trials (1692-93). Written by Arthur Miller in the 1950s as an allegory for McCarthyism and the "Red Scare," the play remains deeply relevant and resonant with exploration of paranoia, superstition, hearsay, groupthink, and justice . Through this production, the 11th Grade will ask themselves and the audience: When the heat of injustice threatens to engulf you, will you stand strong and stay true? Or will you give in?
