Burning Bluebeard
Inspired by the true story of Chicago's 1903 Iroquois Theatre Fire, BURNING BLUEBEARD is the story of six singed clown performers who emerge from burnt remains of history and return to the stage attempting to perform their spectacular Christmas Pantomime once and for all. But this time they hope to finally reach the true happy ending of their second act and avoid the fateful fire that killed 600 of its audience members. BURNING BLUEBEARD is a whimsical romp with a sensitive heart, a joyful eulogy with a sharp irreverent wit including slapstick, vignettes, tumbling and dance. Each night is a vaudevillian delight with a story that excavates the poetic and poignant remains of a piece of Chicago's rich history.
WE'RE SOLD OUT!!!
We, the Ruffians, are so grateful to all of our fans for selling out the show in less than 12 hours. We are so excited to give you the gift of Burning Bluebeard this season. That said, we know that many of our supporters were unable to get tickets to our limited engagement this year and we will absolutely consider our Chicago family's demand for the show next year as we plan our season.
There is no early waitlist for the shows running 12/16-12/18, but we will open the front doors of the Neo-Futurarium one hour before each show time to begin a wait list for that evening's performance only (wait lists will not carry over into the next evening). The wait list will be first come, first served and everyone must be present to be on the wait list (ie 1 person may not stand in line for 4 people on the list). The wait list will not be seated until curtain time, and then only if seats are available. These tickets will be charged at the full door price of $40 each (no discounts available and cash is the only accepted currency).
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at admin@goruffians.org.
Thank you for your incredibly generous support and collaboration in making art that takes risks possible.
NOTE ON SPACE ACCESSIBILITY: The Neo-Futurarium performance space is on the second floor accessed by a full flight of stairs. There is an elevator accessible from Clark Street, which still includes 4 steps. If you'd like to use the elevator, please contact us after purchasing your tickets at admin@goruffians.org or 312-560-0852, so we can best support your arrival to the space.
