Unseen Tears - A Documentary on Native American Schooling in Western New York
'Unseen Tears'

Dir. Ron Douglas, 2009, 30 min.
Unseen Tears is a documentary focusing on the Thomas Indian School and the Mohawk Institute - Native American boarding schools in Western New York. Survivors speak openly about tragic separation from their families, abuse, and a systematic assault on their language and culture.

After the screening Tom Porter, Spokesperson and Chief Spiritual Leader of the Mohawk Community of Kanatsiohareke (Ga na jo' ha la'y:gay), will discuss the film and lead a festive celebration of traditional music and social dances.
