We will have 4 concerts of our own and, in addition, will sing Handel's Messiah with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra on December 15, 2012.  (Tickets for the Messiah must be purchased separately from the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, and will be discounted for chamber chorale season ticket subscribers.)

October 13, 2012, 7:30pm:  MUSIC OF THE GREAT POETS.  The 22nd season begins with a representation of poetry transformed into music. Hear the writings of Shakespeare, Rossetti, e.e. cummings, and others come to life as the Chorale demonstrates how text and music can be successfully and beautifully matched. This performance will include commentary by Richard Taylor, former Poet Laureate of Kentucky. The audience will be offered the opportunity to create short poems, which will be judged by Mr. Taylor.

Let your concert evening begin with a fabulous dinner prepared by the chefs of Greentree Tearoom.  If you wish to join us for dinner, please show the number of reservations to include with your season pass subscription(s) below.

December 9, 2012, 5:00pm:  SING NOEL!  Our popular annual Christmas concert will include a sing-along and will be followed by a reception with delicious treats and the Silent Auction. In addition to fresh arrangements of familiar carols, the Chorale will sing selections from Handel's Messiah. Join us for this holiday celebration.

February 16, 2013, 7:30pm:  WOMEN COMPOSERS - ANONYMOUS TO GRAMMY WINNERS.  This concert celebrates and highlights women composers throughout history as they shattered the glass ceiling of composition in the musical establishment. Journey through the medieval, Baroque, Romantic, and modern ages of music. Featured composers include Hildegard von Bingen (12th century), Francesca Caccini  (17th century), Alice Parker (20th century), and Libby Larsen (current Grammy winner). Many selections spotlight the vibrant sounds from the women of the Chorale.

April 20, 2013, 7:30pm:  THE WORLD BELOVED - A BLUEGRASS MASS.  The final concert of the season invites you to discover A Bluegrass Mass, described as a joyful affirmation of life expressed in sophisticated choral sound and jubilant bluegrass harmonies.  Composer Carol Barnett has created this enjoyable work of bluegrass music, with a church flavor. The Chorale will be accompanied by a bluegrass band for the Lexington area premiere of this work. This musical treat continues through other concert pieces in which the Chorale is joined by our High School Scholars.
