Jr. Derby Thursday - Basic/Intermediate skills
Learn to play roller derby with the Gotham Girls! If you are a female between the ages of 8 and 17 years and want to be a derby girl, this is the class for you!
We will cover both skating and derby skills in this session, which is meant to develop skaters with good form, strong basic skills, and stability and strength as they begin to play the very real sport of roller derby. This class is appropriate for beginners AND intermediate or advanced girls who want to improve their basic skating, blocking, and jamming form to become better derby players.
You must have your own skates, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmet, and mouthguard. In addition all skaters must purchase a $35 USARS membership. No skating skills are necessary, but you must be able to make it around the track without holding onto walls or people.
Junior derby Thursday sessions consist of 6 weeks of classes on Thursday evenings at our "Crashpad". You can sign-up here for the full course - classes are cumulative and the cost for the 6 week package is $125.
Please also note that we reserve the right to cancel this class with one week of notice in the case of insufficient interest. In the event of cancellation,skaters will be issued a refund.
**Tickets are NON REFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE**
