Experience Architecture - Architectural History & Urban Design Walk
Sponsored by: Comstock's Magazine, DPR Construction, Fulcrum Properties, Hogue, Milgard Windows & Doors, SMUD, LPA Inc, Wood Rodgers, Inc, Stafford King Wiese, and Preservation Sacramento/Western Chapter Association of Preservation Sacramento (WCAPT).

Lace up your comfortable shoes and join in this informative walk. Tour will focus on the ways that Sacramento architects and builders respond to the changing built environment, transportation systems and climate of Sacramento--both in the design of individual buildings and larger-scale urban design.

Locations on the walk include: Southside Park, R Street, Fremont Park, and more!

About the Guide | William Burg

William Burg is a historian specializing in California social history and historic preservation, who has written six books and approximately one hundred articles about Sacramento's history, architecture, culture and art. He serves on the board of Preservation Sacramento, Sacramento County Historical Society, Sacramento Heritage Inc. and Capital City Preservation Trust, and lives in midtown Sacramento.

Experience Architecture is a public-outreach event designed to facilitate greater transparency with the public in how architects create our built environment and how it impacts their daily lives; to create an ongoing dialogue to inform a distinct, regional, architectural identity; and to highlight existing relationships between the region and its architecture. The 2016 event is scheduled from October 20th to October 23rd.
