Reception and Concert

Beginning this Fall, SACRA/PROFANA will present their ambitious 2016/17 Season entitled Diverse Voices to Southern California audiences. The 20-voice ensemble is broadening its reach into the community this season with an array of eclectic collaborations with San Diego performance groups of all types. This innovative ensemble continues to celebrate diversity and engage all generations during its 8th Season.

SACRA/PROFANAs 8th season will begin with a Kick-off Celebration on October 21st and 23rd. The launch of their Diverse Voices Season will open with a reception for guests to meet the artists and hear about their recent and upcoming works. To continue their mission of "redefining the choir, SACRA/PROFANA will give a LIVE performance of their latest project: a top to bottom cover of Princes iconic album Purple Rain. Known for their wide range of repertoire including videos of pop songs, SACRA/PROFANA moves to the next level by covering this 1980s soundtrack in a variety of arrangements, from a cappella to instrumental forces. As an added bonus, a well-loved and talented local jazz duo will be featured as the opener of the Oct 23rd concert.

Season 8: Diverse Voices includes collaborations with the California Ballet, San Diego Opera, Bodhi Tree Concerts and more at venues throughout Southern California.
