SCMS presents Tina Chancey
FĂȘtes Galantes: a celebration of the small but mighty bowed string instruments of the High Baroque, treble viola da gamba and five and six-string pardessus de viole. Tina Chancey, John Mark Rozendaal and Webb Wiggins will be performing 18th c. French and Italian chamber music by Couperin, Corelli, Marais and Corrette.
Special features Vivaldi for pardessus: Chedevilles arrangement of "Spring" from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons. Also, the first modern performance of Antoine Forquerays sublime music on the pardessus, just as he suggested on the title page in 1750.
