This is the fifth Season we've been following Danielle Belen's Stings Studio and Center Stage Strings Summer Camp. We watched and listened as these children's performances have matured far beyond their ages. Tonight will be all violinists with piano accompaniment.
Violinist Kevin Miura has just returned from winning 2nd place in the Jr. Menuhin Competition in London. This competition is widely regarded as being one of the 'most esteemed' for young violinists. We've known Kevin since he made his debut at Carnegie Hall at age 8.
Violinists Abigel Szilagyi is another favorite returning this year with Harry Rayner performing the Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia arranged by Jascha Heifetz for two violins.
In addition to her prodigies, virtuoso violinist Danielle Belen will also perform a solo for us - Wieniawski's D Major Polonaise
Harry Rayner will perform Nigun from Baal Shem by Bloch
Abigail Szilagyi plays Vivaldi's Winter from the Four Seasons
Kevin Miura will be playing the final movement of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in e minor
Collaborative accompaniment for all of the above performances will be provided by pianist Jennie Jung.
Note that we have student tickets for this event. Bring your music students to hear these children who we've watched become such accomplished artists.
