Enter the universe of tea. From it's history to its current reality. We will look at it and taste it from all angles. Montreal has some of the most unique and notorious tea businesses in the world!! Come and meet a Montreal-based Chinese tea grower and retailer that was born out of many generations of Chinese medicine but with a fresh and modern branding. Visit one of the top 5 tea importers in the world and their tea sommelier school for a course on tea tasting. Visit a Paris-based company open for over 150 years that also operates in Montreal and is known for their perfuming techniques and then lounge in a Victorian tea-based mixology bar with a cocktail and fancy bites and finish in a cozy but chic tea room in the trendy Mile End with tea and desserts. We will open the world of tea to you, all you have to do is drop down through the rabbit hole!
Montréal a une culture du thé unique et offre des produits extrêmement variés. Nous allons comparer les approches différentes pour le thé soit celle d'une société de thé chinois à Montréal axée sur la fonction, celle de l'un des cinq principaux importateurs de thé du monde, portée sur l'origine et qui offre ses propres cours de sommelier du thé et celle dune firme française à Montréal et leur technique parfumante. Après les boutiques, nous allons passer à un bar de mixologie à base de thé et terminer en beauté à la salle de thé classique dans le branché quartier du Mile-End de Montréal, lieu de rencontre pour la prochaine génération de buveurs de thé, pour y prendre le thé et des bouchées. Cette journée sera remplie de découvertes ! Vous apprendrez tout sur le thé, la production, la vente au détail, la dégustation, le côté historique et la mixologie !
