ABOUT Bethany Joy Lenz:
Bethany has garnered a large following for her soulful, earthy sound which has a sharp wit and penchant toward organic, catchy melodies since the early 2000s when her beloved character on "One Tree Hill" began to sing. Lenz then continued writing her own music, a habit she'd developed early in adolescence and collaborated with world renown producers, eventually landing a record contract with Sony's Epic Records. She's toured with Gavin DeGraw and Michelle Branch and worked closely with Carole King on a workshop of a musical in 2001. "I'm often asked which I prefer more, singing or acting. But for me they go hand in hand... it's all storytelling." says Lenz, "And neither avenue works if it's not authentic."
Lenz's biggest musical inspirations include Patty Griffin, Tom Waitts, Alison Kraus and Billy Joel. She's also written/produced a staged workshop Nicholas Spark's "The Notebook", a musical she wrote with grammy-winning producer/writer Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball, High Hopes etc.)
As an actor, Lenz recently wrapped the female lead in Jerry Bruckheimer's family-drama thriller HOME, a pilot for TNT, and a recurring spot on ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.E.I.L.D. She also recently played a character inspired by Oscar nominated songwriter Diane Warren in SONGBYRD, a 2015 pilot for E!, and also had a recurring role on the final season of DEXTER. In 2016 she will be seen alongside Danny Glover, Eion Bailey and Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi in action-drama EXTORTION.
Lenz also runs website ModernVintageLife.com and works philanthropically with organizations focused on Womens Rights globally, Anti-Trafficking and Traffik Rehabilitation.
