CESCHI:
New Haven CTs Ceschi (pronounced chess-key) Ramos makes his own version of progressive hip hop spliced with elements of folk & indie rock. Although he has almost mathy technical rap abilities hes first and foremost a singer-songwriter at heart. Although one Ceschi song may consist of punk influenced machine gun fast raps, the next may be a quiet folk ballad played on acoustic guitar.
Since the release of 2010s Dj Scientist produced conceptual psych-rock inspired hip hop record The One Man Band Broke Up Ceschi spent the last few years collaborating with an innumerable amount of todays most talented MCs, producers and artists of multiple genres including Sage Francis, Astronautalis & Radical Face. Hes toured throughout North America, Europe, Asia & Australia with independent hip-hop heroes such as Busdriver & Sole and even created his own successful record label Fake Four, Inc.- that many of these artists now call home.
Last year, Ceschi released the critically acclaimed, Factor produced 'Broken Bone Ballads' which finished in CMJs Year End Hip Hop Top 50 & Ghettoblaster Magazine's Top 25 Albums of 2015.
Ceschi most recently released a split 12" on DIY Bandits with folk punk hero Pat the Bunny in February of 2016.
ERASERFASE:
ERASERFASE is a beat music producer from Los Angeles, California. Employing synth, sample, and live instrumentation, he blends mediums in a loose and swingy style, characterized by Los Angeles' thriving beat scene.
Having toured extensively throughout the US over the last 5 years, ERASERFASE is known for high-energy live performances that include an interactive visual display. Often switching roles between Producer/DJ and MC, he has also been known to pick up a microphone during live sets.
The debut album 'Obsoletism' was released in 2013. It features several live musicians and vocal artists, with mastering by Daddy Kev (Low End Theory). It has since been re-issued on cassette by Dome of Doom Records.
In February 2015, ERASERFASE made and released one new beat each day. The project was called "Analog Rituals: a daily beat series" (Dome of Doom Records)
ERSATZ SPLYNTER:
One of Central California's dopest MCs!
Medical dictionaries define "Lalochezia" as "emotional relief gained by using indecent or vulgar language". To us at Fake Four that's fucking hilarious and oddly beautiful. It's also comically fitting that Ersatz Splynter's rap name means something like "an inferior or non genuine version of a famous mutant rat ninja master". As Ceschi once said on a Myka 9 track "It's funny how fake can be realer than all these lying bastards."
Martin Landin aka Ersatz Splynter of Fresno, California's Roach Collection is a multi-instrumentalist, bilingual math rapper & fan of off kilter British stoner comedy. Some of his songs sound like they could fit on a mixtape next to Kool A.D. while others could slide in comfortably next to a melodic song by WHY?'s Yoni Wolf. Ohbut he raps way faster than those guys and also spits in Spanish .and plays saxophone. Fuck it. For the love of West Coast hip hop, just listen to this kid's album!
