3/6 Nihongo Dake Dinner
Join us Sunday, March 6th for an intimate tea ceremony experience at Yusuian, an authentic Japanese tea house tucked away into the beautiful Malibu coast. Come practice your Japanese as members of the Urasenke Tankokai Los Angeles Association lead us in an interactive demonstration of this traditional art.
Learn about the history of tea ceremony, the subtle beauty of a tea room, and the proper way to enjoy the tea itself, all in Japanese. Along with the tea service, you will also be able to enjoy a tasty buffet lunch on the grounds of the tea house, with plenty of time for free conversation in Japanese.
In order to help cover the cost of the lesson and the food, there will be a $25 participation fee. Payment must be made ahead of time and cannot be refunded. Thank you for your understanding.
In order to provide the most authentic experience, this event will be limited to a maximum of 12 participants, so make sure to sign up quick! Once you've made your payment, please also make sure to give us your information via the Google form below, as per CLAIR requirements. Remember, only your payment locks in your spot, so if you only RSVP on Google or Facebook you might end up on the waiting list! Note: Due to the nature of this event, we want to avoid no-shows as much as possible, so please let us know ahead of time if you have to cancel and we will give your spot to someone on the waiting list.
Due to the dignified nature of the Japanese tea ceremony, there will be a dress code for this event. Please note the following:
- "Comfortable business attire"
- No jeans, short skirts, jewelry (including watches), or strong perfume.
- Please wear white socks or white tabi.
- Please tie back any long hair.
