Othello
Does anyone win in a world where jealousy, hatred, racism, gender-bias, socio-economic discrimination and political foddering are simmering below the surface of every conversation? Is there justice in a world that is unequipped to handle the consequences of a society driven by mutual resentment and distrust? Is there ever truth in a culture where no one is who they seem to be and everyone says they are someone else? The stories are ripped from the headlines of every major media outlet across the world today. These questions are asked by millions as they fight for and flee from persecution and the desecration of personal freedoms; as humanity continues its struggle to do better for themselves and their families. And if they succeed, they find contempt. This is the backdrop of The Rude Mechanicals upcoming production of Othello: The Moor of Venice.
Performances are January 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, and 30 at The Uptown Theatre in Richland, WA. Show time is 7 PM for all performances.
