RECSI January Dinner Program
Specifications are the most powerful tool to document and protect the design intent of project. This program focuses on understanding how to develop and use short form specifications for small scale projects. Most small projects do not use specifications and suffer a lack of control and process that leads to significant quality control problems in the field. This seminar explores a variety of short form specification procedures and techniques with the goal of improving field quality control and enhanced protection of design intent. A sheet specification format will be presented and discussed in support of obtaining what the design intended. Program Objectives: Learn that specifications are the most powerful tool available to ensure a project's design integrity and intent is protected to the greatest extent possible. Review short form and sheet specification strategies useful for small projects, interiors, and tenant improvements. Explore short form and sheet type specifications formats. Learn how to develop a short form specification from long form sources.
