Cruelty Free, Wholesome and Aphrodisiac

Join Lean Chef en Route/ extraVEGANza Pgh for a romantic dinner, part of a series of monthly Around The World Pop-Up Dinners. Guests will be treated to culinary creations with worldly inspiration, culled with locally-grown, organic and GMO-free ingredients. The event features fun, food education and a multi-course dinner.

Chef Mya Zeronis has a background in globally-inspired contemporary American cuisine, and her dinner series scored a Q & A in Pittsburgh Magazine, chef profile in Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and write-up by Pop City Media. This month, she will be serving up flavors of France, Pittsburgh, New York City, Italy, Mexico and India with her own modern flair, taking diners on a whirlwind delicious voyage. Themed for the Valentine's Day celebration, menu includes a variety of aphrodisiac ingredients that also are superfoods: cacao, avocado, banana, berries, cherries, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, chilies, cinnamon, garlic and baby arugula.

The plant-based, multi-course supper includes both raw and cooked items that are free of gluten, soy, dairy, egg, honey and refined sugar.
1) Guests will learn to make ever so familiar Pittsburgh's stable pierogies the new way, using Weatherbury Farm's organic buckwheat (wholesome, gluten-free grain) and stuffing them with sweet potatoes and kale. We'll save finished masterpieces to be served with the entree as other food and beverages acompany:
2) Chai tea with cinnamon, fennel seeds, orange peels, turmeric, ginger, mint, cloves, sweetened with maple syrup (optional)
3) Roasted red bell pepper sherry bisque topped with a pair of nori hearts
4) Apple cider and herb marinated, thinly-sliced beet carpaccio served with baby arugula, avocado, pomegranate dressing
5) Baby bella mushroom artichoke ragout over kale-sweet potato-stuffed buckwheat pierogies pan fried with unrefined coconut oil and sprinkled with pine nut parmesan
6) Raw raw chocolate cashew cheese cake with cherry-strawberry compote, banana flambé
7) Raw Mexican hot chocolate with raw cacao, pumpkin seeds, cayenne, dried unsweetened coconut, raw brown sugar

BYOB (aphrodisiac red wine) welcome.

Please let organizer know well in advance if you have any food allergies and restrictions.
