Ceramic course offers students a six week introduction to the wheel and hand-building basics. Participants will learn basic methods of centering clay on the wheel, forming cylinder and bowl forms, trimming and adding hand built elements to wheel thrown forms. Students will also learn handbuilding basics with slab, coil, and pinch techniques, followed by basic finishing and surface decoration techniques. This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate students.
Glass course offers students a six week introduction to basic glass techniques of torch working and fusing. Participants will learn how to make beads and small figures using torches as well as layering shapes, colors, and printed images in fused glass forms. This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate students aged 9 and up. Course fee includes glass, tool use, firing, and open studio use during posted hours.
