MoveWorks presents Avalanche
The programs will include three works by the company - The Contaminant, The Job, and the world premiere of Avalanche, a new piece to celebrate cold, ice, and snow.
The show also features performances by special guest Gabrielle Orcha and local dancers in a performance art based piece by Hong-Kong based artist Aubrey A. Daval. Performances are Friday and Saturday, February 19 and 20, at the Dance Complex, 536 Massachusetts Avenue.
***UPDATE*** The house will open to a pre-show immersive experience at 7:30pm. The concert program will start promptly at 8pm.
Lighting design for the concert is by Lynda Rieman. Featuring new music for Avalanche by composer Alexander Sovronsky, resident composer at Shakespeare & Company.
MoveWorks is a NYC-based dance theater company that combines contemporary dance, ballet, theater, and partnering with WILD imagination to create joyful experiences. Simply put, their goal is to create beautiful things and to make people happy through their work, which has been shown at venues around New York City and Brooklyn.
The Julie Ince Thompson Theater at The Dance Complex is at 536 Massachusetts Avenue; the theater is wheelchair accessible.
