"Optimism's going to break your heart"
When things fall apart, you go back home. Swept up in a public scandal, jaded humanitarian Charlie rehashes the past and hashtags his way to the moral high ground. Hiding out in a long abandoned family home, Charlie broods on his ruined reputation. With him is famous-but-frustrated actress Mari, desperate to salvage her career. With only their memories and a bottle of bad whisky, they'll try to work out where it all went wrong, and wonder where they're meant to go from here. Dark, daft, and subversive, Heartlands asks if optimism always has to break your heart.
