8:15PM - Annie Kahane and Alex Hersler
Annie Kahane & Alex Hersler are both Bay Area natives, alumni of Northwestern University, and cross-genre performing artists, notable for their works and performances with the esteemed drum and dance group, Boomshaka. The piece they will be performing tonight was originally created in 2008. Fusing spoken word, body, percussion, and dance, Annie and Alex will decorate the evening with a vibrant display of cross-genre performance.

ECHOREV is an international duo that blends two unique voices into one. Johnny Nicholson and Jörn Bielfeldt craft a new breed of indie rock: electrified folk songs propelled by organic hip/hop and electronic beats with "anthem quality and many a sing-a-long moment" (The Owl Magazine). Having performed over 40 shows across Europe and the U.S. this past Fall in support of their debut album, Find North (September 2011, Monkey Rock Records), ECHOREV takes you on a journey from the light into the darkness and back again.

Four people from distinctly different backgrounds, Not to Reason Why came together much in the same way a riot evolves. Utilizing a variety of different influences, this foursome represents a fully loaded arsenal. Not To Reason Why lures their audience into a relaxed malaise with pleasant piano riffs and encapsulates their souls with heavy rhythmic articulation and soaring guitar lines with some of the most intense post-rock stylings this side of Japan. This powerful quartet does not just captivate an audience; they clasp their very souls in a vice-like grip. When listening to Not To Reason Why, be prepared for utter destruction, where there is seemingly no outside world. It is this surrender and the following intense existential experience that makes music by Not To Reason Why a must have.
