Architecture Matters Design Forum: "Context: Fitting In"
Join hosts Arturo Levenfeld, AIA; Saxon Sigerson, AIA; and Kris Barkley, AIA, for a casual evening of discussion centered around the topic of design within a contextual environment. Often, context is defined as simply that which has been historically created and thus "fitting in" becomes an exercise in replication. This definition often ignores the broader and perhaps more important implications of technology, socioeconomic and cultural conditions, expression of purpose and environmental concerns.

Do buildings or additions need to look like their neighbors to fit in? Is fitting in really even necessary on any level and if not, is there a point where differences become too extreme?

Our open forum discussion is intended to explore these questions and others in our continuing Architecture Matters series.
