Bring on the Sun Run
The Bring On The Sun Run is a charity 5K race/fun run scheduled for 9:00am May 5, 2012 at Magnuson Park in Seattle, WA.
All profits from the race will go to support Boys and Girls Club of King County, Rotary Branch. The Boys and Girls Club of King County, Rotary Branch provides urban youth "a place to call their own, where they can have fun, get a healthy snack, be creative, be part of a team, get help with homework... or just hang out with friends."
The Rotary Boys and Girls Club does important work, offering academic support, leadership coaching, athletics, and healthy social learning environments for our youth. They provide guidance and a "home" to over 500 inner-city school-aged children and teenagers in the Central District of Seattle. The Rotary Branch of the Boys and Girls Club is comprised of over 90% ethnic minority school-aged children with more than 50% of them living in single parent homes, extended family situations, or foster care.
This event is organized by graduate students enrolled in the Sport Administration and Leadership (MSAL) program at Seattle University. Our mission is to support community based programs such as the Rotary Boys and Girls Club through physical activity, health, and wellness. We also hope to inspire participants of all ages to lead a fun and active lifestyle through running and walking. Our core values are health, community, fun, respect, and inclusiveness.
