Second Samuel
Written in 1989, the title comes from the name of the small town, Second Samuel, G.A. (rebuilt after Sherman burnt the first Samuel, Geogia), where the men spend their leisure time at the local watering hole and the women are found at the beauty emporium. Set in the late 1940's, the inhabitants of this sleepy southern town prepare for the funeral of one of their most beloved citizens. But their serenity is suddenly shattered when dark secrets are revealed and the folks of SECOND SAMUEL are in for a summer no one will ever forget!
It's the comical and touching story of life and friendships in a small Georgia town and how one little twist turns the tale in this southern fable. You'll meet "B-Flat", a young, mentally-challenged boy, as he gives us a tour of his town (not to mention a new perspective) and the folks that live in it. Join us for this pulitzer-nominated, very special play filled with outright laughter and tears as we find out what true friendship is all about! "Second Samuel" will stay in your heart for a long time to come. Don't miss it!
SUNDAY shows will offer a Sunday Dinner of good old, down home, country cooking fitting for any funeral gathering!
