5:30pm MST Broadcast: Trotta & Ronstadt Releasing their debut collaboration, "3.30.11," recorded live in Jersey City, David Trotta and Michael G. Ronstadt bring an exciting sound to today's music scene. Performing together for almost two years, Trotta and Ronstadt were recently featured artists at the New Jersey premier of The Endless Summer (Remastered) and also chosen as artists for the first Annual Escape 2 New York music festival on Long Island. Radio stations like WNTI (Hackettstown, NJ) and Z88.9FM (Pemberton, NJ) have been playing their music regularly. Both artists have a rich family tradition of music and tour extensively for audiences throughout the United States. David Trotta was born and raised in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and is now settled in the New York City Metropolitan area. He continues the musical tradition his father left him and has toured the east coast for the last three years. Trotta studied voice at Rowan University and takes that solid foundation into his expert songwriting. Michael G. Ronstadt is a Tucson, Arizona born cellist and songwriter now living in the greater Philadelphia area. He has performed throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico with artists like David Bromberg, Linda Ronstadt, and Muriel Anderson. In addition to collaboration, Michael currently tours internationally with his family group, Ronstadt Generations. Sought after as a touring and recording artist with his name on over 40 recordings, Michael is also a first-rate composer in his own right with a command of the cello that ranges from pristine classical technique to throw-down funk. His music can be found on three solo albums released in 2006, 2008, and 2010, in addition to albums by Trotta & Ronstadt (2011) and Lost In Holland (2009).
6:45pm MST Ronstadt Generations Ronstadt Generations represents the multi-cultural roots America was founded upon. Dating back five generations in North America, Michael J. Ronstadt, younger brother of Linda Ronstadt, continues the family tradition with his two sons, Michael G. and Petie. These three voices -- all multi-instrumentalists and solo artists in their own right -- bring to life a repertoire that reaches back to the end of the 19th century while continually looking ahead into the 21st, with a rich innovation of original material alongside traditional Southwestern and Mexican songs. Each comes with the highest credentials, having appeared around the world in performance and on recordings with such diverse artists as Linda Ronstadt, Los Lobos, the Dixie Hummingbirds, Muriel Anderson, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and countless others. Enjoy a fascinating musical journey with Ronstadt Generations.
