Set in and around a Charleston, SC Baptist church, weaving through this ensemble piece are three main characters - Brea, an introspective pastor's daughter experiencing debilitating doubt, the hyperactive Laura, Brea's best friend and a devout believer, and Tim, the open-hearted son of a single father, confronting his homosexuality for the first time. Tensions and buried feelings abound, as colleges are chosen and adults behave badly, as Brea, Laura and Tim attempt to hang onto what they have, all the while yearning to break free.
Written, produced, directed by and starring the South Carolina-bred, Chicago-based Cone, the Chicago-based production and Charleston-shot film will screen at the Hippdrome on November 19th and 20th .
Produced by Stephen Cone, Sue Redman and Laura Klein, and also stars Chicago actors Molly Kunz (The Penny), Allison Torem (Lookingglass and David Schwimmer's Trust), Tyler Ross (Nate & Margaret), Matt DeCaro (Prison Break, Eagle Eye), Ann Whitney (Sugar, Home Alone, The Fugitive), Cliff Chamberlain (Broadway's Superior Donuts), Sadieh Rifai (Steppenwolf's Ski Dubai, ATC's Speech and Debate) and Sadie Rogers (The Christians, In Memoriam). Casting is by Chicago-based Matthew Miller, Mickie Paskal, C.S.A., and Jennifer Rudnicke, C.S.A. Stephanie Dufford served as Director of Photography and Chicago's Mikhail Fiksel composed the original score.
