The Heavy Xmas Pop Party
Beard Of Truth Presents: The Heavy Xmas Pop Party Saturday 3rd December 2011
Playing live:
PET - This Edinburgh 5-piece band recently featured in NME Magazine's '25 New Bands You Must Hear' coming in at #8. They were also the first band to do Beards & Truths the band Q & A on Beard Of Truth. They describe their music as "Harmonius, Playful and simple."
THE SPOOK SCHOOL - Think C-86 Indie Pop. Another new band from Edinburgh, featuring stand up comedians in their fold. They were the second band to ever answer stupid questions for the blogs Beards & Truths weekly feature. They're twee but not in a sickening way. They also have a song that name checks Jaffa Cakes. What more do you want?
CALYPSO BROWN - Not a lot is known about 20 year old Miss Brown. There's seemingly nothing online to be found. Beard Of Truth caught her playing at the fringe, attracted by her cool demeanor and gothic look, and almost grunge-esque songs. She's so mysterious that when asked to play via email she simply replied "Tell me when and where and I'll show up."
Their SHOULD be free mince pies on the night, and their WILL be awesome records played by Toilet Ghosts.
