A Comedy of Horrors
It's so funny, it's scary. Laugh Index presents "A Comedy of Horrors", a Halloween-themed comedy variety show that includes stand-up comedians, long form improv troupes and sketch comedy. There are two shows, 7:30 pm & 9:30 pm, on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Melton Rehearsal Hall. You'll have a wicked good time.
No Halloween show would be complete without a murder mystery, and well, there's a Hot & Sweaty whodunit web miniseries just for you! WHO KILLED XP? It's got laughs, romance and a dead man, and *YOU* can vote for the killer online when you purchase a ticket to "A Comedy of Horrors". Laugh Index Productions will release a video every couple of days from now until Hot & Sweaty's performance in "A Comedy of Horrors", where Hot & Sweaty will announce the killer live at the 9:30 pm show. TOM ACHILLES was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Philly's Phunniest Comedian Contest and a finalist in the 2010 DC Improv's Funniest College Student Contest.
CONOR O'ROURKE was a judge for the 2010 TBS and Rooftop Comedy's National College Comedy Competition, and was a finalist in the 2010 DC Improv's Funniest College Student Contest. He can be seen performing in the Virginia, DC, Maryland area.
DMG is a longform improv troupe based in Washington, DC. Known for its tight-knit cast, smart and sophisticated humor, and dashing good looks, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and perhaps most importantly you'll leave feeling just a little smarter than when you came in.
HOT & SWEATY was formed during DC's hottest summer and is a long-form comedic improvisational troupe performing in the Washington DC area. Four hot chicks. Four sweaty guys. You'll laugh so hard, you'll sweat. Bring a towel.
THE LODGE is an improvised long form show. Founded on an audience suggestion, a secret society is born and the performers create a show exposing the secret rituals of this new society and the unwitting world waiting outside.
RED HOT PEN is a DC-based comedy sketch group. Sharp, poignant and sometimes fashionable, the creative minds of five women combine to show you that the pen is mightier than Chanel.
THE SCORE brings your music collection to life! A random audience member's mp3 player provides the score for this improvised show. The Score will show you what your music really looks like, played out on stage. Not even an iPod can do that.
WEREWOLF a two man improv show brought to you by Topher Bellavia & Dave Johnson. One world. Countless characters. Infinite laughs.
