BPC's Back to School Picnic
Today's Socratic Question:  Why does nearly the whole school turn out for this annual all-school get-together?

The kids play field games while the adults relax on blankets & camping chairs (bring 'em!), schmooze, or linger over a delicious catered lunch (this year, by Nourish You Catering).  It can't hurt that Steve Wolff brings brews from his Oakland brewpub, Pacific Brewing Company, and BPC-parent owned winery A Donkey & Goat is rolling out an oak barrel...

Organized by the Parents' Circle, this year's picnic will have some unique activities inspired by this year's theme of getting-back-to-nature and do-it-yourself.  We'll be churning butter (old school) and making ice cream with liquid nitrogen (new school!)  And once again, we're bringing our own power in the form of solar panels (too cool for school).

Kids and adults can take a turn at a Japanese Saori loom, sand candles, and other crafts, as well.

Beer, wine and solar-powered sno-cones available for an extra charge...

Tickets purchased at the event will be $20 per adult, $12 per child.
Kids under 4 attend for free!

Padre is one site downhill from Laurel, where BPC Picnics have often been held in the past.


DIRECTIONS FROM HWY 80:
Take the Buchanan exit and head up Marin all the way to the circle, and continue up Marin.  Turn right on Grizzly, proceed for a few minutes and turn left on Shasta (there's a big Tilden sign).  Stay right as Shasta merges with Wildcat Canyon and turn right onto South Park Drive.  Padre comes up fast on your right.

DIRECTIONS from ROCKRIDGE
Proceed up Claremont Avenue all the way to Grizzly Peak.  Turn Left on Grizzly, and right on South Park Drive.  Padre is most of the way down, on the left.

Online ticket sales close at 9pm on Friday evening, so we can assemble the guest list.
