SCMS Presents Ryland Angel & La Follia Austin Baroque, St. Louis Catholic Church
If you haven't yet heard the remarkable sound of the countertenor voice, here's your chance to enjoy one of the best: internationally known and Grammy-nominated countertenor Ryland Angel. Angel joins La Follia in an intimate concert of Baroque music composed as a tribute to Mary, Mother of Jesus. Accompanied by exotic early Baroque instruments such as the gamba and theorbo, Angel's voice is haunting and deeply moving. Come hear why the countertenor was the rock star of the Baroque era, the effect no less potent today than it was then.
