SCMS Presents William Westney, piano
William Westney, Gold medalist at the Geneva International Piano Competition, Paul Whitfield Horn Distinguished Professor and Browning Artist-in-Residence at Texas Tech University, plays "marvelously, with power, flair, and remarkable clarity" (New York Times). Newsweek has listed one of his recordings among the Ten Best American Music Recordings of the Year. Westney's collaborative research places him at the forefront of the investigation of music and meaning. Hear him put it into practice, playing an exciting and varied selection of compositions by Albeniz, Scriabin and others in his vital and communicative style.
