Clasical Guitarist Cameron O'Connor
For the inaugural concert of the 2011/12 Concert Series, the American Guitar Society is pleased to present Classical Guitarist Cameron O'Connor. Exciting and versatile, he has gained unheard-of prestige for a guitarist his age. Recent highlights include an invitation to play at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City, and a performance under the baton of Chinese composer Tan Dun in his Concerto for Six, for which the New York Times noted that "O'Connor fluttered on his guitar strings in a manner reminiscent of a pipa player's technique." He has been a top prize winner in six international competitions and recently graduated from the Julliard School.
The Concert will be held in the Los Angeles Valley College Music Recital Hall. The college is located at 5800 Fulton Ave., in Valley Glen. The Recital Hall is at the far northwest corner of campus. Free parking is located just north of the recital hall in Lot B.
