2011 Sierra Innovation Summit
Current shifts in the international and national economy call for a recovery strategy that is driven by and for regional residents of the Sierra Nevada. Impacts from these shifts create distinct challenges to our region and serve as the catalyst for the 2011 Sierra Innovation Summit. The Summit will bring together local decision-makers, small and mid-sized business owners, labor organizations, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, lenders, venture capital managers, trade associations, federal, state and local agencies, and the educational community for a single-day event. The event will include presentations, workshops, and interactive exercises focused on innovation based business, job growth, and sustainable economic development.
Sierra Nevada entrepreneurs, small business owners, and workers, are the drivers of economic recovery strategies and have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact by addressing issues concerning economic growth, community development, environmental responsibility, and associated social concerns. This Summit assembles the leadership of entities working in the Sierra Nevada as well as potential partners in neighboring regions and connected sectors, with the intent to improve coordination between entities and form partnerships for future regional collaboration.
