AACE Seattle Section May 12th, 2011 Meeting
"PROJECT DELIVERY USING MYRIAD"
May's presentation will be about Myriad, a project delivery solution for project controls. Presenting will be Phil Larson, a long time AACE member and past president of AACE International. Phil is currently working with Planning & Management (P&M) Services, Inc. based in Federal Way, Washington, to migrate and enhance the product from a MS Access based solution to a MS SQL Server with VB.NET platform.
Planning and Management Services, Inc. (P&M) was founded in August 2002 and is a highly qualified Small Business specializing in state of the art project delivery, planning and project controls services including capital program and project solutions.
Myriad is a process-oriented Project Planning and Controls software based on the P&M Methodology for Project Controls. The system supports the execution of best practices and fundamentals in Project Management with the initial development of cost estimates, schedules and risk analysis and then baseline of project budgets and schedules.
Project controls is concentrated on the monitoring and tracking of performance with earned value management, trending and commitment controls, variance analysis, risk assessment and forecasting. Myriad enables estimates that have been developed using other types of software to be imported into Myriad with the purpose of effective controls of cost estimate trends, variance analysis and baseline of budgets.
Myriad creates a database of information that can be used to create reports and controls for analysis/reporting at an enterprise/programmatic level that provides visibility and credibility to the project delivery process.
With over 30 years of experience in the AEC industry, including 10 years spent with WinEstimator, Inc. as Sr. Vice President, refining and adding features and capabilities to WinEst (estimating software), Phil will describe the challenges and expectations of software development, as well as provide an informative demonstration of Myriad and it's maturity process.
Further information about P&M and Myriad can found at www.pmsvs.com
Anybody interested in project controls, project management, cost estimating, scheduling, value engineering, budget control, and cost engineering in construction and non-construction industries are cordially invited.
AACE Seattle meets the 2nd Thursday of each month. Each section meeting with technical presentation qualifies for .25 points toward your CCC/CCE/PSP/EVP/CEP/CFCC recertification continuing education requirement.
