Infant Massage
This class is for pre-crawling infants. This is an into class that will explain the benefits of infant massage and many infant massage techniques.
Bring to class 2 nice, warm, snuggly blankets for baby. Class will take place on the floor with these blankets. Your instructor will demonstrate on an infant doll while you learn massage with your own infant. The emphasis, the entire time, is on the infant's current comfort and well being.
These are all the ways infant massage can help your baby: ~Increased blood circulation ~Improves digestion ~Relieve gas & constipation ~Aid in development of the Nervous System ~Increases alertness and awareness ~Helps with immune function ~Releases Oxytocin, the Nurturing Hormone ~Greater relaxation and aids sleeping ~Helps create greater parental bonding ~Promotes communication between parent and baby ~Facilitates increased weight gain
From the time they are born children crave their parents touch. A number of important elements help form the bond between parent and child. These include sharing eye-to-eye contact, skin-to-skin contact, facial expressions, soothing sounds, cuddling, and smell. Parent's often find that their baby sleeps better, fusses less, and gains more weight, when massaged regularly. As well as incorporating critical elements of bonding, infant massage provides a focused one-on-one time that fosters mutual love, compassion, and respect.
