Sustainability Wins Lunch and Learn: Water Conservation through Research and Behavior Changes
Don't water the lawn after it rains. Don't leave the sink running while you're brushing your teeth. Only run your dishwasher when it's full. We have all heard the wise water tips; but, it's important to understand the reasons behind these tips. Thankfully, local groups are working to ensure we have enough water for all of Colorado's needs. Jeff Lukas, Research Integration Specialist with the CIRES Western Water Assessment (a NOAA-sponsored research program based at the University of Colorado Boulder) will be discussing the future of water in Colorado and how climate-change science can inform planning and decision-making. This will directly align with what Philip Segura, Conservation Specialist of Denver Water and our second speaker is doing with water and energy efficiency in Denver. The responsibility of conserving our water is on all of us; so, get engaged through this event and understand the part you play.
