Into the Woods
Escape to the Kitsap Forest Theater, located a short drive from the Bremerton ferry. Join us for a grand adventure as you stroll down the forested trail to our unique and breathtaking theater! Create a treasured family tradition.
Into the Woods seamlessly blends four beloved fairy tales with the story of a childless baker and his wife, who set out on a journey to reverse a family curse. Follow the wooded path with Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and Jack (of beanstalk fame) as they encounter the consequences that traditional fairy tales conveniently ignore. What does one do with a dead giant in the backyard? Does marrying a prince really lead to a happy and fulfilling life? Find out what happens after "happily ever after." One of Stephen Sondheim's most popular works, this timeless yet relevant piece is a rare modern classic, perfectly set at the Kitsap Forest Theater.
Young and old will delight in this popular tale that illustrates the importance of looking out for each other. Act One will appeal to all ages. Act Two contains more mature themes.
NOTE: Even though tickets are sold for specific dates, all tickets are good for any performance, subject to capacity.
Helpful Hints for Playgoers:
The trail to the theater opens at 1:00 pm and shows start at 2:00 pm.
Wear comfortable non-slip shoes for the 10 minute walk down the winding forest trail, and don't forget your camera.
Come early and enjoy the picnic areas and refreshments available at the top of the trail. Refreshments are also available in the theater before the show and during intermission.
Seating is festival-style; to make the terraced earth seats more comfortable you may want to rent a cushion at the theater or bring your own cushion or stadium-style folding seat.
Dress comfortably for the weather to enjoy the show rain or shine.
Invite your friends (but please leave your pets at home) for a magical, relaxing day in the forest!
