Aprili 9th - AIN NYC Regional Meeting - Intro to Applied Improv AND Master Class
We're very excited about our next meeting on April 9. In the morning, Sue Walden, one of AIN's most accomplished veterans from California, will be offering a sneak peak at the all-day workshop she's offering in Baltimore at the annual conference. That afternoon, we will be hosting a second Master Class, this time with a new twist (see below!).
AGENDA
10:00 to 12:00 Introduction to Applied Improvisation Answers to the Question You Didn't Even Know You Had
The AIN is attracting many folks who are new to, or on the edge looking longingly at, the idea of making a profession of a process they love. This session will provide a big-picture of Applied Improvisation, as well as some specific "hows" and "how-tos", including a multi-media (visual, graphic, experiential, Q&A) look at the various ways we do our work.
Presented by Sue Walden, pioneer in the field and 30-year veteran, who has been interviewing members of our community to gather the data that created a work-in-progress grid.
This is a mini-version of the longer workshop Sue will be presenting at the AIN Pre-conference on June 16, which will cost over $200 to attend.
Sue has presented this at AIN Regional meetings and conferences around the world. Some feedback from the Amsterdam conference attendees:
* It truly helped answer all the preliminary questions I had and allowed me to distill my thoughts. The main conference was much more fruitful because of your session. * The workshop itself was very good. Sue, you are very good. Framework, different approaches, a practical taste of the work by doing, listening to how people who are already making a living from it started off -- and hearing that, they too, once started ... * More can be found here
12:15 to 1:15 Time for Lunch and networking Location will be
1:30 to 4:30 Master Class in Applied Improv Don't miss our second Master Class in Applied Improvisation, one of the most effective and satisfying ways to share best practices and passion for this field.
Over the course of the afternoon, we will do a quick warm-up and then host t hree 40-minute sessions in which a presenter facilitates a game or exercise using the other attendees as participants. The presenter is then given feedback by our panel of three experts (including Sue Walden plus two to be named next month).
New Twistall three presenters will address the same topic!
IF YOU WANT TO BE ONE OF THE PRESENTERS YOU'LL NEED TO COMPLETE AN RFP - email nyc.ain@gmail.com for details People of all skill levels are encouraged to apply to present! Some feedback from December's Master Class:
* The conversations were rich and interesting, really getting at the heart of Applied Improv. * ...amazing to have all of these opinions in one room. Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing you on the 9th!
Thank you,
