Iolanthe
Following the success of Pirates of Penzance last year, we are delighted to be transferring an all-male Iolanthe from The Union Theatre to Wilton's.
Universally regarded as Sir Arthur Sullivan's most beautiful score, Iolanthe is a topsy-turvy love story involving fairies and members of the House of Lords. A perfectly pertinent story for today, where a coalition is wittily struck between the Liberals and Conservatives. A political fairy tale that only Gilbert and Sullivan could conceive.
"Entirely enchanting" - Time Out ****
"... The Union's All-Male Iolanthe is camper than a field of tents but it looks superb, sounds divine and ends happily, who could ask for more?" - Evening Standard ****
