Tim Paul - Full Day Discounted Double Workshop
Attacking the Top - You can't play in a scene, if you take the whole scene to figure out what's going on. In this workshop, the Focus is on both verbal & non-verbal initiations, laying a strong foundation at the top of the scene, not dropping your sh*t, endowing you & your scene partner with strong character choices, specificity in lieu of ambiguity, establishing an environment to exist in, grounding your character in emotion  & removing the fluff in the initial dialogue to make room for meaty choices that give your scene partner something to Yes And off of. Scenes will not go longer than 30-60 seconds. It sounds like a lot, because it is.

Down to the C.O.R.E.: Scene Diagnostics
Character, Objective, Relationship, Environment - four elements of a scene that provide you with the framework to knock it out of the park. In this workshop, I pinpoint & tackle specific weaknesses & bad habits that rise to the surface in your scene work. From there, I will assign specific challenges in later scenes that are geared towards your specific area of need amongst the four elements of C.O.R.E. This class is a scenic bootcamp, where we will look at your scenes form the inside out. There's no room for games here, we're just doing scenes.

Tim Paul is a Chicago based comedian, whose most recent credits are Mick Napier's Invisible World (Chicago Magazine's Best Sketch 2014) and aboard the Norwegian Epic, as part of the Second City ensemble. Paul can also be seen performing weekly at the Second City in Second City's Improv All-Stars & Second City's Game Night.  He is also a writer, director and performer for the Second City Network, where he most notably created and directed the series, Ladies Looking. He is on the faculty of both Second City (Advanced Improv) and the Annoyance Theatre (Level 4), where he is also one of the Annoyance's Resident Directors. Nevertheless, his career peaked with that Christmas Commercial he did for the USPS a couple of years ago, with the ugly Christmas Sweater and the overt gay undertones.
